Hope they find a way to turn ship otherwise its gonna be trouble in paradise as you cant use the 'Trade Luongo' cause you have no one but Lack to replace... most get the sense the playoff ship is sinking without any cups or jewellery to show for all those president years... shame really...older team with some assets- if this continues you may consider trading the sisters for some picks and assets by the deadline...

Too many players playing a position beyond their skill levels.

Why Gillis is constantly trying to find diamonds in the rough is beyond me...quit signing outcasts from other teams, hoping they flourish here. Instead of signing 3 guys at 750k, hoping one will turn out, sign one 2M player that can play the role needed.

We will miss Lappy (1.1M signed by ST.L and we have missed Torres (2M signed by SJ). I don't get how we couldn't afford these guys.

Same old shi*t, different year. This team is done. They need to trade the Sedins while they still have plenty of value, trade Edler, and get rid of Booth, someway, somehow. They need to rebuild and bring in some younger players with skill and start to put together a more competitive team. The window has closed. Sorry.

your team will only be better game after game. torts loves video and he will drill these guys with 2-3 hours of video today to get them to improve. give it until game 10-15 before you start jumping off the ledge.

They only played well for the first 10 minutes. So he's gonna show that part of the game 15-20 times over and over again?

I like it!

no he's only going to show the parts where they played poorly and tell them exactly what they need to do differently in each player.

How can you say the team demonstrated a new commitment to defense after they allowed 16 shots against in the first period alone??

lol..... The guy isn't talented enough for the top 6, and way to soft for the bottom six. He'll put up points in the regular season, and becomes nonexistent when it matters. He's a serviceable third liner in the regular season.

We all know the score - this is a talented enough team to hang with every team in the West except Chicago - Los Angeles - San Jose and St Louis.

Beyond that, we'll be fighting for the 5 thru 8 spots unless someone decides the GM needs to go...then all bets are off.

It wasn't as bad as the score displayed. The first period was very even, but the Canucks started taking a ton of penalties and killed any momentum that was previously produced.

It was one game on the road that was close until the 5 minute mark of the third period. Everybody needs to relax. The Sedins looked strong imo. They're going to have a big year.

The defence and the Sedins are not what I am worried about.

1 game on the road against a shark team that was virtually unbeatable at home last year. Deep breath everyone.

No one is freaking out, as it is expected by most of us. But to win the cup, you need to beat the unbeatable teams.

And we are ready to win a cup.

Many here are just reiterating what was said all off season. No depth, lacking a functional second line, etc.

I don't think anyones bent outta shape here, we're just stating the obvious. They'll have a decent year if things stay as they are, it's just that expectations as somewhat skewed because of a recent Cup run.

I still maintain they won't be able to compete with the "powerhouse" teams in the West unless changes are made. I said that before the season started, after game one and I'll continue to say it until changes are made.
